Digital twin solutions in the UAE: live models of your plants, buildings and assets fed by real operating data

Digital twin solutions in the UAE are only useful when the twin is fed by live data and someone acts on what it shows. Next Orbit builds twins that combine BIM and engineering models with IoT, SCADA, BMS and maintenance history. Operators see the state of a plant, building or fleet as it is now, simulate changes and schedule work before failures happen.

Quick answer

What is digital twins and who is it for?

Digital twin solutions in the UAE create a living software model of a physical asset, building, plant or network. Sensor, control system and maintenance data keep it current, so teams can monitor, analyse and simulate it. Next Orbit builds twins for oil and gas facilities, utilities, commercial buildings, district cooling, warehouses and fleets. Each twin links a three-dimensional or schematic model to live data through MQTT, OPC UA and vendor APIs. It adds health indicators, alarms and predictive models, and supports what-if scenarios for energy, throughput and maintenance planning. The twin integrates with CMMS, BMS and ERP systems and is delivered from Dubai for clients across the UAE and the GCC.

  • Data first, graphics second. A twin is a data integration project with a visual layer on top. We connect SCADA, BMS, IoT and CMMS reliably before investing in detailed models.
  • Fit the detail level. Some assets need a full BIM model, others a schematic or a map. We match the view to the decisions operators make, which keeps cost and maintenance sensible.
  • Closed loop with maintenance. Alarms and predictions raise work orders in your CMMS, and completed work updates the twin, so the model reflects the asset as it actually is.
  • Office. Next Orbit Technologies L.L.C, 509-23, Mai Tower, Al Nahda 1, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, serving the whole UAE, the GCC and globally.
  • Built around your operation The architecture is agreed with you before any code, so the system fits how you already work.
  • Proven before you commit A prototype built around your workflow shows it working before the main investment.
  • Ready for the UAE Arabic and English, UAE compliance such as VAT and e-invoicing where it applies, UAE hosting where your rules require it, secure by design.

What we deliver

Digital twins: what Next Orbit builds and runs for you

Pick a deliverable to see what it covers and the part of the stack behind it.

Deliverable 01

Process and facility twins

Twins for process plants, tank farms, pipelines and utilities that bring OPC UA and historian data, P&IDs and three-dimensional models into one view. Operators see live tags on equipment, alarms in context and trends per asset, with simulation of throughput and energy under different operating conditions.

From the stack

  • Python
  • PostgreSQL + pgvector
  • Redis
  • PyTorch

Deliverable 02

Digital twin for buildings in Dubai

Building twins fed by the BMS, energy meters, occupancy sensors and the BIM model, covering HVAC, lighting, lifts and district cooling. Facility teams see comfort, energy and fault data per floor and asset, test setpoint changes virtually and plan maintenance around occupancy and tenancy schedules.

From the stack

  • Python
  • PostgreSQL + pgvector
  • Redis
  • PyTorch

Deliverable 03

Asset performance monitoring and alarms

Health indicators, utilisation, efficiency and degradation per asset, with thresholds and predictive models raising alarms before failure. Alarms carry the data behind them and are routed by role and shift. They create work orders in your CMMS, so the twin drives maintenance rather than just displaying it.

From the stack

  • Power BI
  • Python
  • PostgreSQL + pgvector
  • Redis

Deliverable 04

Data integration and IoT connectivity

Connectors for SCADA, historians, BMS, PLCs, LoRaWAN and cellular sensors through OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, BACnet and REST. Edge gateways buffer data over unreliable links. Data is time-stamped, validated and stored in a time-series database with the asset hierarchy from your CMMS or ERP.

From the stack

  • PostgreSQL + pgvector
  • Redis
  • FastAPI
  • Node.js

Deliverable 05

Simulation and what-if analysis

Scenario tools that estimate the effect of a setpoint change, a production rate, a shutdown or a new asset on energy, throughput and risk. Physics-based or data-driven models are used as appropriate. Results are compared against the live baseline so planners can judge them before acting.

From the stack

  • Python
  • PostgreSQL + pgvector
  • Redis
  • PyTorch

Deliverable 06

Visualisation, mobile and support

Web dashboards, three-dimensional and schematic views, mobile access for field teams and optional AR overlays for technicians on site. Role-based access and audit trails are built in, and Next Orbit supports the twin after launch, adding assets, sites and models as your estate grows.

Questions, answered

Digital twins in the UAE: questions we are asked

01 What are digital twin solutions in the UAE used for?

Monitoring and planning for plants, buildings, networks and fleets. Operators use twins to see live asset state in context, catch degradation early, simulate operating changes and plan maintenance and energy use. Next Orbit builds twins for oil and gas, utilities, buildings, district cooling and logistics clients from Dubai across the UAE and the GCC.

02 Can you build a digital twin for oil and gas in the UAE?

Yes. Facility twins connect OPC UA and historian data, P&IDs and three-dimensional models so operators see live tags, alarms and trends per asset. Deployment follows site security rules, with data flowing through controlled zones and the twin hosted in a dedicated deployment where your compliance rules require it. See oil and gas software.

03 What does a digital twin for buildings in Dubai include?

BMS, energy meter, occupancy and lift data linked to the BIM model. Dashboards per floor and asset, fault detection for HVAC and lighting, and comfort tracking sit on top. Facility teams test setpoint changes virtually, plan maintenance around tenancy and report energy performance to owners and regulators from the same data.

04 How is a twin different from a SCADA or BMS dashboard?

SCADA and BMS show live values for their own systems. A twin joins those systems with engineering models, maintenance history and analytics in one asset-centred view, keeps history, predicts and simulates. It does not replace control systems; it reads from them and sends work to maintenance and planning tools.

05 Do we need a full BIM model to start?

No. Many twins start with a schematic or a map view tied to live data and add three-dimensional detail only where operators need it. If a BIM model exists, we reuse it; if not, the asset hierarchy from your CMMS or ERP is enough to begin monitoring and alarms.

06 Do you deliver digital twins in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah?

Yes. We work from one office in Dubai and deliver digital twin solutions in the UAE for sites in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates. We also serve the GCC. Site surveys and gateway installation happen on site, while integration, modelling and support run from Dubai.

07 Which protocols and platforms do you integrate with?

OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, BACnet, LoRaWAN and REST APIs for data, with historians, SCADA, BMS and CMMS products from the major vendors. We work with cloud IoT services on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud and with open-source time-series stacks. The choice matches your existing estate and your residency requirements.
