R&D log · Quick answer

What innovation work does Next Orbit do?

Next Orbit applies emerging technology to real operations: AI agents and LLM applications, computer vision, industrial IoT and SCADA, mixed reality, digital twins, tokenisation and smart contracts, predictive analytics, and climate and ESG intelligence.

It is for organisations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the entire UAE, the GCC and globally with a problem that standard software does not solve. We start with a prototype or proof of concept on your own data, then engineer the production system with the same architecture and quality control as any other build.

  • Eight focus areas. AI, vision, IoT, mixed reality, twins, blockchain, analytics, ESG.
  • Prototype first. Unknowns are tested before the main investment.
  • Software and hardware. Sensors, devices and firmware alongside the platform.
  • Measured, not promised. Results are evaluated on your data and reported plainly.

Future ideas, built on proven engineering

Beyond the flagship platforms it delivers, Next Orbit is incubating the next wave of AI-native products and extending from software into connected hardware, from its office in Dubai.

Ideation stage

ReLeaf AI

Climate and carbon intelligence that counts, measures and tracks trees one by one, across a whole country.

ReLeaf AI is a Next Orbit R&D idea, at ideation stage and not yet launched, for ESG, environmental and climate analytics, designed to turn sustainability pledges into figures that can be checked. Its first use case is country-scale tree monitoring: AI combines satellite imagery, drone surveys and IoT field sensors to find individual trees, follow their health and growth, and estimate the CO₂ they absorb and the biodiversity they support.

What it delivers

  • Planned: CO₂ sequestration per tree and per region, as evidence for carbon-credit and offset claims
  • Planned: tree health heatmaps, pest and disease alerts and species diversity indices
  • Planned: annual reports aligned with IPCC guidance, ESG indicators and public dashboards

Built with

  • Sentinel-2 · Landsat · PlanetScope
  • Drone RGB / multispectral
  • LoRaWAN IoT sensors
  • YOLOv8 · Mask R-CNN · DINOv2

Concept stage

Traceability Software

A complete history for every product, batch, asset and component, from first supplier to final hand-over.

A Next Orbit R&D platform that records where products, materials, assets and components have been and who has held them, logging movement, ownership and verification at each hand-off. It is aimed at manufacturers, supply chains, regulated sectors and asset-heavy operators that need to prove origin, satisfy auditors and close the gaps between suppliers, sites and customers. It builds on the QR verification and chain-of-custody logic already proven in AuthentiQ.

What it delivers

  • Serial, batch and asset tagging
  • Ownership and chain-of-custody history
  • Verification and audit records at each hand-off

Built with

  • QR · RFID · IoT capture
  • Chain-of-custody records
  • Audit trail
Prototype built

SEO AI Agent

An AI agent that keeps working on search visibility, in Google results and in AI answers.

A Next Orbit R&D prototype: an AI agent that monitors websites, keywords, competitors and rankings without pause, then proposes and automates fixes to technical SEO, content and internal linking. It replaces the quarterly manual audit with a continuous process, and it also measures how a brand appears inside AI-generated answers, a channel most businesses are not yet tracking.

What it delivers

  • Keyword and ranking tracking
  • Technical site audits
  • Competitor gap reports

Built with

  • Always-on crawling and audits
  • Keyword and competitor analysis
  • LLM content briefs
  • AI-answer visibility checks

Current focus: software + hardware

Next Orbit is extending its software into connected, intelligent devices, engineered from Dubai by a distributed engineering team.

  • IoT solutions Sensor networks and edge gateways that feed data straight into the platforms and systems we deliver.
  • AI integration Models running on devices and in the cloud, shared across the platforms we deliver.
  • Smart devices Purpose-built hardware for industrial sites and field teams.
  • Connected automation Monitoring, control and alerts working as one closed loop.

How do you take a new technology idea from prototype to production?

We begin by framing the question the technology must answer and the measure that will show whether it works. A proof of concept is then built on your real data or a real device, small enough to be quick and honest enough to fail if the idea is not sound.

When the proof of concept meets its measure, the solution architecture is designed for production: integrations, security, hosting, hardware where needed, and the screens people will use. From there the build proceeds in iterative sprints with quality control before each release.

Why work with an R&D-led software company?

Emerging technology rarely arrives as a finished product that fits your operation. Making it useful means combining disciplines: models with data pipelines, sensors with dashboards, headsets with content systems. Our teams cover AI, IoT hardware and firmware, AR/VR, blockchain and enterprise software, so these pieces are designed as one system.

We also say when a simpler approach will do. Not every problem needs AI or a digital twin, and a niche build is only worth it where it gives you something a standard tool cannot.
